A NASA mission is about to go boldly into the frigid waters
of the Arctic Ocean in the space agency’s first oceanographic research voyage
to the top of the world.
NASA researchers are preparing for the voyage, known as the Impacts of Climate on Ecosystems and
Chemistry of the Arctic Pacific Environment mission, or ICESCAPE, and which will leave later this month, Paula
Bontempi, ocean biology and biogeochemistry program manager at NASA, said today.
