The probabilities at the sports book will be impacted since the landscape of college football is going to be changing pretty soon.

Nebraska announced Friday that they’re moving to the Big 10 which will likely mean the finish of the Big 12 conference. Many of Nebraska’s long-time foes against the probabilities at the Internet sports book will likely be going to the Pac-10 so college football is going to look a lot different after the impending season.

A piece of Nebraska’s move is economically motivated. Bigger paychecks will be coming as a result of the switch. Nebraska figures to double its amount of conference earnings, from about million in the Big 12 to about million in the Big 10, thanks mostly to larger television contracts and the in-house Big 10 network.

On Thursday, fellow Big 12 member Colorado announced it will be moving to the Pac-10. Reports became available that Missouri was furthermore arranging to abandon the Big 12. For Nebraska, the facts spoke for themselves, and they had to contemplate a move to a more stable conference.

With reports leaking out about Nebraska’s move, it didn’t exactly come as a shock when they made the official statement on Friday. Missouri may be following Nebraska to the Big 10 but that has not yet been announced. If the Big 10 chooses not to give them an invite, Missouri may wind up out in the cold. When all is said and done, the Tigers may wind up in the Mountain West. Missouri does not have a quality association with the Big 12 as it is and the newest reports have the Big 10 discussing whether or not they want to include the Tigers.

With the news that Nebraska is departing the Big 12, other schools are expected to follow suit. The Pac-10 is anticipated to offer six schools membership into the conference and those other schools are Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. The Big 10 may also be adding schools in addition to Nebraska. The Big 10 is waiting on a verdict from Notre Dame. If the Irish accept an invite to join the conference then the only two teams that would be joining would be Notre Dame and Nebraska.

The concern will be what happens to the Big 12. Many feel that the conference is done after this season. Nebraska’s move to the Big 10 likely signals the end of the Big 12 as a conference. It’s now likely that the Pac-10 will become a huge conference with 16 teams and the Big 10 may follow suit by giving invitations to squads from the Big East. This will probably be the last season where you can count on rivalry games in the Big 12 staying the same. The landscape of college football is unquestionably changing.

DeLoss Dodds, the Longhorns athletic director, has said he wants to maintain the Big 12 together. Texas is deemed the lynchpin to the Big 12′s survival. University of Texas regents will get together next week to decide whether the Longhorns will stay in the fast-dissolving Big 12 or switch to another conference.
